Silich named BCHL 1st Star of the Week

Jack Silich was named the first star in the BCHL’s NAPA Auto Parts Three Stars of the Week. In three games he scored six goals, adding one assist for a total of seven points. His six goals catapulted him to third place in BCHL goals.

“It’s a fantastic feeling getting recognized by the league for my hard work and effort that I put in,” said the 19 year old forward. “I’d like to thank the Bucks organization, the coaching staff, and my line mates for their effort and great teamwork we have all done together.”

“There is still a lot more to be done,” Silich added, “and the team is looking forward to doing great things together this year.”

Silich scored his first BCHL hattrick in a 9-2 victory over the Cowichan Valley at the BCHL showcase on Monday. He scored a goal and had an assist in the Bucks 4-2 loss to the Nanaimo Clippers. Finally adding two more goals in the Bucks 10-3 win over the Powell River Kings.

“We are really happy to see Jack get recognized for his success this past week,” said Cranbrook Bucks head coach and general manager Ryan Donald. “Jack has been a welcome addition to our group this season and it was great to see his hard work get rewarded.”

“Those who get to see the work Jack puts in each day know that he has the ability to score from distance with an accurate shot, and it was only a matter of time until he was able to get going offensively.”
