Donovan Frias named to the NHL Central Scouting List

Cranbrook Bucks forward Donovan Frias has been name has been listed on the NHL Central Scouting 2023 Preliminary report. Frias is one of nine current BCHL players to make the list. He is listed as a ‘C’ which indicates the potential of being drafted between the fourth-sixth rounds of the 2023 NHL Entry draft.

“We are excited for Donovan to be identified as an NHL draft prospect with the release of the Central Scouting List this week,” said Bucks head coach and general manager Ryan Donald. “It is a great feather in his cap as a young hockey player to receive this recognition relative to his peers.”

The hulking 6-foot-4 forward has three goals and four assists through seven games with the Bucks this season.

“We have been impressed with Donovan’s progression as a young man and hockey player since arriving here in Cranbrook,” Donald said, “and look forward to continuing in his development this season.”

Frias is already committed to Yale University, along with his twin brother Julian.
