BUCKS ADD 3 TO ROUND OUT ROSTER

The Cranbrook Bucks (BCHL) are happy to announce that they have added forward Tyson Dyck, Defensemen Jagger Benson and Yale Committed Defensemen Jason Marsella for the 2020-2021 season.

Dyck played last season for the BWC Midget Prep of the CSSHL collecting 21 goals and 19 assists for 40 points through 36 games. The 16-Year-Old from Abbotsford, BC has spent the last 2 seasons with Burnaby Winter Club. Dyck has played in the last 3 games for the Bucks scoring his first BCHL goal against Merritt last Thursday.

“Tyson is a young player that impressed our staff at our Rookie Camp this fall, and we are excited to be able to add him to our roster for this season.“ Said Head Coach and GM Ryan Donald. “Tyson is an exceptional young man that will be a great fit within our organization as a player and a person.  We look forward to being a part of Tyson’s development and helping him achieve his goals in the future.”

Jagger Benson spent last season with Tilton School of the USHS-Prep earning 7 goals and 16 assists in 26 games. The Wynnfield, MA native enters his 20-year-old season as a rookie after spending the last 2 seasons at Tilton School. Benson has played the last 2 games with the Bucks.

“Jagger is a player that we think can step in and help us immediately.“ Said Head Coach and GM Ryan Donald. “He is a 20-year old that can help us in all situations, both offensively and defensively.  He possesses good size, athleticism, and length in his game, as well as a good shot.  We are excited to work with Jagger to take the next step in his career.”

Jason Marsella joins the Bucks after spending last season with Avon Old Farms School of the USHS Prep where he scored 3 goals and added 13 assists in 27 games. The 18-Year-Old from Greenwich, CT is committed to NCAA Div. 1 school Yale University. Marsella is also currently listed on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List for the 2021 NHL Draft. Marsella joined the Bucks early last week but has yet to play in a game for the Bucks.

“Jason is a young man that will benefit from a fresh start with our organization.“ Said Head Coach and GM Ryan Donald. “He is someone that our staff is familiar with and is a player that can play in a lot of situations and is very versatile.  He is a strong skater that is comfortable with the puck on his stick and will be relied on to contribute to all 3 zones.  We are looking forward to helping prepare Jason for his NCAA career at Yale.”

The Cranbrook Bucks wish to welcome Tyson, Jagger and Jason to the organization and to the City of Cranbrook.

The Cranbrook Bucks now sit at 24 rostered players to start the regular season with 14 forwards, 8 Defensemen and 2 goalies. Some of the player commitments made in the summer were unable to report due to different circumstances and the Bucks roster is now set to start the regular season.
