The Cranbrook Bucks (BCHL) are happy to announce that they have committed forward Walker Gelbard for the 2021-2022 season.
Gelbard currently plays for the Vancouver NW Hawks of the BCMML and spent last season with the West Van Academy Bantam Prep team achieving 10 goals and 36 points in 24 games. The North Vancouver, BC native attended the Cranbrook Bucks training camp this past fall, scoring in the only preseason game he played. The 15-year-old is brother to current Bucks forward, Hayden Gelbard.
“Walker is a player that our organization is excited to add for the 2021-22 BCHL season.” Said Head Coach and GM Ryan Donald. “He impressed our staff during our Rookie Camp this fall, and continued his impressive performance during his time with us in our Extended Training Camp as well. He has shown us that he is a motivated young man who is willing to do what it takes to get to the next level and we are looking forward to helping him develop in the BCHL. He brings a combination of speed, skill, awareness and grit that will fit into our lineup very well. “
The Cranbrook Bucks wish to welcome Walker to the organization and the City of Cranbrook.
