Swedish forward Oskar Cederqvist commits to Bucks for 2023-24

The Cranbrook Bucks (BCHL) are pleased to introduce their latest international player commitment.

Oskar Cederqvist, a 2003-born forward from Sweden, is joining the herd for the 2023-24 BCHL season.

Cederqvist spent last season with the Växjö Lakers of Sweden’s J20 Nationell program where he put up 36 points through 46 games.

The young forward comes from an accomplished hockey family, his father played at the Division 2 and 3 levels in Sweden while his older brother Filip was selected in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres and currently plays for the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

Bucks coach Ryan Donald says it was important for the club to add a veteran forward to replace some of the offense lost through turnover from last season.

“He [Oskar] has shown to be a productive offensive player who plays on the inside of the game,” Donald says. “He has the unique ability to create offense in a variety of ways, and we look forward to helping him achieve his goals this coming season in North America.”

The Cranbrook Bucks wish to welcome Oskar to the organization and the City of Cranbrook.
