Bucks Force Game 7 with 3-2 Win in Game 6 Thriller
The Cranbrook Bucks are alive and heading to a winner-take-all Game 7!
In front of a packed house of 1,789 fans at Western Financial Place on Sunday night, the Cranbrook Bucks defeated the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 3-2 in Game 6 of the BCHL Interior Division Final. The win evens the best-of-seven series at 3-3 and sends the decisive Game 7 to Salmon Arm on Tuesday, April 28.
The Bucks came out strong and carried the play in the opening two periods. Adam Csabi got the home side on the board first at 7:35 of the first period (assists: Grant Denuccio and Jeremy Poirier). Konstantin Hutzinger made it 2-0 just 56 seconds into the second period with a one-timer on the powerplay (assists: Mitch Patrick and Kaslo Ferner).
Salmon Arm cut the lead in half with a power-play goal of their own from Koen Senft at 10:52 of the third period. With the Silverbacks pressing late and their goaltender pulled, Adam Csabi sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:02 (assist: Jack McMinn), his second of the night. Jared Rothman added a late goal for Salmon Arm at 19:55, but it was too little, too late.
Goaltending Battle Jason Tremblay was excellent once again, turning aside 30 of 32 shots for the win. Daniel Dirracolo made 21 saves on 23 shots for the Silverbacks before being pulled late in the third.
