With the playoffs somewhat on the line, this was a must win weekend for the Bucks to widen the gap from the Vernon Vipers and try and close the gap with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks to try and steal that 3rd spot in the division! The Vernon Vipers were in town for a double-header, a team that gave the Bucks some problems at the beginning of the year and a team that had been playing well in the month of February, a dangerous team.
The Bucks imposed their will on Friday, scoring 4 goals and shutting out the Vipers en route to a 4-0 victory. Jason Trembaly had a spectacular game earning his 2nd shutout of the season and Mitch Patrick and Adam Csabi added a goal and an assist each and Csabi iced the game with an empty netter.
Saturday Night was our 20 year old jersey celebration, with 6 of our players graduating after this season. The Bucks scored within 20 seconds of the start of the game off a one timer from Captain Jack McMinn in the slot and they never looked back. Jason Tremblay had another great game and almost had another shutout had it not been for a mishap playing the puck. The Bucks widen their lead on Vernon to 8 points and are within 4 points of the Silverbacks with 5 games left on the schedule. The Bucks are back on home ice on March 21st for awards night and will be the last home game of the regular season!
