Lyne makes it official with Bucks after standout playoff performance

The Cranbrook Bucks are adding some size up front as playoff standout Sam Lyne has committed to the club for the 2024-25 season.

Lyne, a native of Chelmsford, England, joined the Bucks midway through their first round playoff series versus West Kelowna in April and put up 3 points through 4 games.

Prior to joining the Bucks, the 6’2″ forward laced up with Northwood School of the USHS prep program, he earned 35 points through 57 games.

Bucks coach Ryan Donald says Lyne addresses a need for some more size within his forward group, while boasting a strong and versatile skillset.

“Sam is a player that we were attracted to over the course of last season after watching his evolution as a player,” says Donald. “He has a unique blend of size and skill that allows him to impact the game in a number of ways. He plays a physical game, is willing to get into hard areas of the ice, and can contribute on special teams as well.  We look forward to helping him refine his game and have a successful college career.”

The Cranbrook Bucks wish to welcome Sam back to the club and to the City of Cranbrook.
