Game Recap: Wild Blast Bucks 5-0, Series Tied 1-1

Luck was not on Cranbrook’s side in Saturday’s playoff battle with the Wenatchee Wild.

The Bucks took a 5-0 loss in game two Saturday, allowing Wenatchee to tie the best-of-seven first round series at 1-1.

An early first period goal for Wenatchee captain Cade Littler set the pace for the Wild, giving them a 1-0 lead before the five-minute mark. The Wild got terrific goaltending once again from Andy Vlaha, who robbed Noah Quinn of a sure fire tying goal shortly after to preserve Wenatchee’s 1-0 lead into intermission.

The Wild’s lead doubled in the second period thanks to a Garrett Szydlowski goal at 1:43, putting the Bucks at a 2-0 deficit. Cranbrook mustered 10 shots on Vlaha through the middle frame, but were held at bay and trailed 2-0 after forty minutes.

Wenatchee put the game away with third period goals from Micha Berger, Cade Littler and Parker Murray to cruise to a 5-0 victory on the road.

Saturday’s loss sets the stage for a rubber match in game three in Wenatchee Tuesday with the series knotted up at 1-1.
