Game Recap: Bucks Soar to 6-0 Win Over Eagles

The Cranbrook Bucks made a statement Friday night versus one of the best teams in the Coastal Conference, earning a 6-0 win over the Surrey Eagles.

The first period took awhile to get going as neither team was producing many chances through the opening minutes. The Bucks were able to finally open the scoring at 10:42 thanks to Noah Quinn’s 19th goal of the season to take a 1-0 lead. A solo effort from Cam Kungle a few minutes later lifted the Bucks to a 2-0 lead. Cranbrook maintained their 2-0 lead through intermission, shots were at an 8-8 tie after twenty minutes.

Second period action played out very similar to what was seen through the opening frame. Nathan Airey was sharp in the Cranbrook net, turning aside all 11 shots from Surrey. The Bucks managed to pad their lead thanks to goals from Kellan Hjartarson and the red-hot Bauer Morrissey to take a 4-0 lead into the second intermission.

The Bucks put a collective stamp on the game in the third period with Airey handling a barrage of Eagles shots, and goals from Jarrod Smith and Nick Peluso to cruise to a 6-0 win.

Cranbrook’s win boosts their record to 33-13-1-2, they are on a three-game winning streak.

The Bucks return to action Saturday night versus the Langley Rivermen.
