Bucks Trio Shines at BCHL Top Prospects Game

The kids were alright!

The Cranbrook Bucks’ contributions to the BCHL Top Prospects game played a big part of Team East’s 6-2 win over Team West Friday night in Penticton at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Forwards Donovan Frias, Jaxon Fuder and Jack Silich all had impressive showings. Frias and Fuder both picked up third period goals, while Silich began a busy weekend as he will also partake in Saturday’s BCHL All Star Tournament and skills competition.

The Frias goal was highlight real-worthy, he managed to finish a deke off a turnover deep in Team West territory to put his club up 4-1 at 2:24 in the third period. Fuder extended the lead to 5-1 with a tally on a breakaway at 6:34. Both clubs traded goals in the latter half of the final frame, and Team East was able to skate away with an impressive 6-2 win over their western counterparts.

MVP honors for the BCHL Top Prospects game went to Brady Smith, the Trail Smoke Eaters defenceman put up 2 goals for Team East in Friday’s prospects showcase.
