Bucks Commit Forward Matt Duarte for the 2022-23 Season

The Cranbrook Bucks (BCHL) are happy to announce that they have committed Forward Matthew Duarte for the 2022-2023 season.

Duarte spent last season with the GOJHL’s Hamilton Kitty B’s, he put up 21 goals and 38 assists through 46 games. The 2002-born forward from Hamilton, Ontario is the twin brother of Mark Duarte of the OHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.

The club’s newest forward looks forward to arriving in Cranbrook and taking in the community’s outdoor lifestyle, “I like to fish a lot, and I heard there’s some pretty great fishing out there. I’m excited to see it for myself,” Duarte says.

Duarte describes himself as a dependable forward, or a jack-of-all-trades, “I like to block shots, backcheck hard and I have a high compete level.”

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan says he models his game after former NHL Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla.

The Cranbrook Bucks wish to welcome Matthew and his family to the organization and the City of Cranbrook.
