Weekend Review: Bucks Split Opening Weekend with Trail

The Cranbrook Bucks went 1-1 in their opening weekend of the 2021-2022 season. The Bucks home opener went picture perfect winning 5-3 in an impressive outing in front of a sold-out Western Financial Place. 17-Year-Old forward Tyson Dyck led the way with 2 goals and a helper while goaltender Nathan Airey turned aside 32 of 35. Andrew King, Theo Thrun and Noah Quinn also contributed on the scoresheet with a goal apiece.

The Bucks went on to fall to the Smoke Eaters the following night at their home opener 3-1. Tyson Dyck continued his hot start with an early goal but then Trail went on to score 3 unanswered goals to conclude the contest. Bucks goaltender Evan put up a good display stopping 31 of the 34 shots he faced.

The Bucks get back to work with 2 home games against the West Kelowna Warriors next weekend.
