GAME RECAP: Bucks Win 8-3 Against Team Canada

The Cranbrook Bucks continued their exhibition winning streak with an 8-3 win over the Canadian National Women’s team on Friday night in front of a sold-out Western Financial Place (50% capacity – 2350 fans). The game stayed fairly tight until the Bucks exploded for 4 3rd period goals. The Bucks got goals out of Walker Gelbard, Kellan Hjartarson, and Brendan Rogers while Noah Quinn scored a pair of goals and assists. 17-Year-Old Tyson Dyck had a terrific night tallying 3 times for a hat-trick. Bucks goalie Nathan Airey made 20 saves on the night.

The Canadian Women’s Team got a goal from star forward Julia Gosling early in the second before Melodie Daoust found the net early in the third. The night was capped off perfectly as forward Jessie Eldridge was sprung on a breakaway with seconds left and put it top corner to round off Team Canada’s scoring.

This game concludes the Cranbrook Bucks exhibition season and they begin their regular season on Friday, Oct 8th against the Trail Smoke Eaters at Western Financial Place.
