Preseason Recap: Bucks Go 4-0 Through BCHL Preseason

The Cranbrook Bucks are off to a hot start as they go a perfect 4-0 in the league’s exhibition schedule. Coach Ryan Donald will be happy with his team’s early performances with the team scoring 17 goals and only allowing 5 goals through the 4 games.

The Bucks earned back-to-back wins on the opening weekend of the preseason with 2 wins over the Trail Smoke Eaters winning 5-3 in Trail before winning again 3-1 at home. The Bucks then went on to make it 4 in a row with a 3-1 win over Wenatchee and a 6-0 tally in Trail. Defencemen Reece Bentham led the Bucks in points with 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points over the 4 game span while goaltender Nathan Airey went 2-0 with a .986 save percentage and a 0.5 goals-against average. Scoring was well spread out amongst the team with 11 different players tallying for the Bucks during the exhibition schedule.

 

The Bucks roster currently sits at 26 with 16 Forwards, 7 Defensemen and 3 Goalies.

Cranbrook will play the Canadian National Women’s Team on Tuesday, Oct 5th before opening their Regular Season against the Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday, Oct 8th at Western Financial Place.
