The Cranbrook Bucks (1-8-0-0) and the Penticton Vees (9-1-0-0) faced off for the fifth time this season on Sunday evening in a game that saw the Vees edge the Bucks by a score of 5-1.

An early Buck’s penalty opened the door for a powerplay goal courtesy of Penticton’s Tyler Ho which opened the scoring in the 1st period. Ho’s goal would be the only tally of the 1st period, in which the Vees outshot the Bucks 16-3. The Vees saw their lead double just 25 seconds into the 2nd period thanks to a goal by Jacob Quillan. The Vees later capitalized on their fourth powerplay of the game as Luc Wilson beat Nathan Airey to give the Vees a 3-0 lead. The Bucks were finally able to get on the board thanks to a powerplay goal from Walker Gelbard at 14:25 of the 2nd period to bring the Bucks within two. A two-goal 3rd period by the Vees increased their lead as they went on to win by a score of 5-1. Cranbrook’s Nathan Airey stopped 36/41 shots while Penticton’s Kaeden Lane stopped 19/20.
