The Cranbrook Bucks (1-5-0-0) suffered their fourth straight loss while the Penticton Vees (6-0-0-0) won their sixth straight contest.
It was a scoreless first period with Penticton outshooting Cranbrook 7-3 to start the game. The second period saw Walker Gelbard be assessed a 5-minute major and game misconduct for boarding. The Vees were unable to capitalize on the powerplay but broke the scoring drought thanks to a goal by Jacob Quillan at 15:25 of the 2nd period. The Bucks trailed 1-0 heading into the second intermission while trailing 18-12 in shots. Tyler Ho beat Nathan Airey with a shot from the slot 4:30 into the 3rd period to extend the Vees lead to 2-0. Penticton’s Luc Wilson made it 3-0 at the 13:53 mark of the 3rd period, beating Nathan Airey five-hole from the slot. Jacob Quillan would add an empty-net goal as the Vees went on to win by a score of 4-0. Cranbrook’s Nathan Airey stopped 22 out of 25 shots while Penticton’s Kaeden Lane records his second shutout of the season, stopping all 16 shots he faced. Penticton now leads the Bucks 3-0 in the season series.
