GAME RECAP: Trail Evens Up Season Series

The Cranbrook Bucks (1-2-0-0) faced the Trail Smoke Eaters (1-2-0-0) for their third game of the BCHL regular season on Wednesday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton which saw Trail even up the series at 1-1.

The Trail Smoke Eaters got off to a hot start scoring two goals in the first 6:10 of the period. Tyson Dyck was quick to answer with a goal of his own before Noah Wakeford took the Smoke Eaters to a 3-1 lead halfway through the frame. Both teams got into penalty trouble in the first period with 6 PIM each. Trail exploded for four goals in the second period from Park, Wolford (2), and Disher. Trail scored 3:46 into the third before Cranbrook’s Zeth Kindrachuk answered with a goal of his own. Quaid Anderson added a late tally of his own but it wasn’t enough as Trail went on to win 8-3.

Nathan Airey stopped 11/17 shots before Thomson came in to relieve him, stopping 10/12 shots.

The Bucks’ next game is Friday, April 9 at 8PM MST against the Penticton Vees at the South Okanagan Events Centre. All games can be caught on HockeyTV and Shaw Spotlight.
